It’s been an incredably chaotic month, much of which I can illustrate in this new issue of Hate Mail!

First, there’s John and Linda, telling us that religion is sacred. Wait, I thought Christianity isn’t a religion, it’s a relationship with God! That’s what Christians like to say, anyway. Either way, it’s talking to an invisible phantasm with scary powers, so I guess it doesn’t matter what they call it.
Keith seems to be confused as to whether he is a Christian or a Buddhist, what with all his yapping about karma. Where does the Bible talk about karma? Like everything else religious, it is something he picked up from people around him and has never questioned it; he just believes any old thing he is told. Thanks, Keith, for getting “Karma Chameleon” stuck in my head now.
I love the letters that begin, “I believe in freedom of speech, HOWEVER…..” There’s always a “however” in there, right? Meaning, “I believe *I* should have freedom of speech to preach about Jesus, but YOU shouldn’t have the freedom to mock me.”
Then We got Arthur Capitalizing almost Every Word. (Go easy on the shift keys, Arthur, you might break them.) He seems as confused as Keith, for he spends most of his letter angrily chastising you for mocking God, then says that God is not mocked! So, which is it? If God isn’t mocked, then what does he care about Jesus Dress-Up? Perhaps if God spent more time healing people of cancer, feeding starving children, and growing back lost limbs, he’d be too busy to be insulted by magnetic toys.
You and your bride look scrumptious, Bob. When can we expect a houseful of little demonlings? :oD
Bob,
Good to run into you and get caught up. Fun to read the latest rants and your come backs. Always entertaining.

“Making money on mocking another’s religion is just wrong! ”
Tell that to Mel Brooks and the Monty Python troup!
Oh, well. I guess I’ll go ahead and burn my copies of “Life of Brian,” “Oh God,” “In God We Trust,” “Bedazzled,” … and every other movie made in the 1970’s.
