  1. I love your answer on that last message there, Bob. To paraphrase, “what god would make us believe in something based solely on faith, when the world is full of liars?”

Never thought of that! You got me.

The bible mentions it in this way–be like a child. Believe whatever you hear. You’re supposed to be completely vulnerable. THEN it comes up with this headscratcher:

    1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The bible is extremely vague on false prophets. It says that people who use cards and spells to learn the future are using witchcraft of a sort and are false prophets. Yet what of the occult practices in the bible? Ritualistic prayer, EXORCISM, using or not using the name of a deity in superstition–because most people believed that the utterance of such names yielded power. And nowadays, hell, protestants and Catholics alike use all kinds of ritual: incantation, group incantation, sensors, holy water, genuflection, crossing oneself, costumes, BAPTISM, special diets, you name it.

Is it CRITICAL THINKING to discern some occult rituals as the true ones when others are “evil?”
